Tips of the Month |
Work-Life Balance - Message from President Obama
President Obama urged businesses and governments to develop flexible work practices in order to end the "disconnect between the needs of our families and the demands of our workplace."
"It's an issue that affects the well-being of our families and the success of our businesses," Obama said in wrapping up an afternoon-long White House Forum on Workplace Flexibility.
"And ultimately," he later added, "it reflects our priorities as a society."
The president said his administration is working on a grant competition program for states that develop the best programs for such challenges as paid family leave and child care.
Obama said he also wants to see his own government develop better programs for things like tele-working from home.
"I do not want to see the government close because of snow again," Obama said.

Microsoft Office

In Word 2003 and 2007:
If you are searching for an alternative for a particular word, try r-clicking in the center of it and go to "Synonyms". You will find that Word has automatically looked up that word in its thesaurus. Just select the alternative you would like and it will be entered into your document.
Adobe Creative Suite

Spring-loaded tools
In CS4, you can temporarily jump from any tool to any other tool by pressing-and-holding the other tool’s shortcut. For instance, to jump from the Brush tool to the new Rotate View tool, just hold down R, click-and-drag the canvas to rotate it, and then release R to jump back to the Brush. Although it saves just one click at a time, those clicks can add up. |
